Privacy Policy
KissResume is operated as an independent product. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact page.
1. Data we collect
- Résumé content you upload (name, contact details, employment history, education, skills).
- Chat messages you exchange with the assistant.
- Generated documents we produce on your behalf (cover letters, tailored résumés).
- Account data if you sign in: email address and OAuth identifier.
- Telemetry: pageviews, feature usage, error events, IP-derived approximate geolocation, and user-agent. Used to operate and improve the Services.
- Cookies: a session cookie, a consent cookie ("kr_ad_consent"), and — only if you accept — Google AdSense and analytics cookies.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the Services (analyze your résumé, generate tailored documents, run job searches);
- To run our infrastructure (hosting, logging, error monitoring);
- To send you transactional email (one-time codes, and weekly job alerts you opt into);
- To serve advertising via Google AdSense, only if you accept on the cookie banner;
- To detect abuse and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-party processors
We process your data through the following sub-processors. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement:
- Google LLC — Gemini API / Vertex AI / AI Studio (LLM inference); Google AdSense (advertising); Google Sign-in (OAuth).
- Microsoft Corporation — Azure App Service, Azure Storage (Blob + Table), Azure OpenAI, Azure Communication Services (email), and Application Insights.
- OpenAI, L.L.C. — supplemental LLM inference.
- Serper.dev — Google Search API (job-listing retrieval).
4. KissResume Talent Network
If you opt in (the checkbox under each Upload call-to-action), we may include your résumé in the KissResume Talent Network — a curated index that vetted recruiters and hiring partners can search to find candidates that match a role they are filling.
- What gets shared: your most recent résumé and a derived skills/role summary. We do not share your chat history, raw uploads other than the latest version, or your email unless a recruiter requests an introduction and you explicitly accept.
- Default: the toggle defaults to on so you start visible to the network. Uncheck it at upload time or change it later in your account settings.
- Recruiter vetting: network access is granted to verified recruiters and hiring partners only. We do not sell your data and never share it for advertising.
- Opt out anytime: uncheck the box, remove your account, or request deletion via the contact page — your résumé is removed from the network within 24 hours.
5. International transfers
Our Azure resources are hosted in Central India; some third-party processors operate from the United States and other jurisdictions. Where personal data of EU/UK residents is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with the relevant processor, supplemented by encryption in transit and at rest.
6. Retention
- Uploaded résumés and generated documents — kept for 30 days after last activity, then purged unless you save them to your account.
- Chat history — kept for 90 days.
- Account data — kept for as long as your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account closure.
- Telemetry — kept for up to 30 days in raw form, longer in aggregated form.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccuracies;
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Object to processing or withdraw consent;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.

8. Advertising and cookies
KissResume is ad-supported and displays advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. We load advertising and analytics cookies only after you accept them on our consent banner.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on our site. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
